Overview
Public seating has a quiet flaw: strangers hesitate to share a bench, wasting public resources and missing chances for connection. Who to Sit With reimagines the bench as individual seating sections, alternating seats rotated 90 degrees — two seating directions that give both function and privacy, and turn the chair into a conduit for encounters in the urban landscape. The non-linear edges are abstracted from the rooftop ventilation openings of Gaudí's Casa Milà, fusing his architectural ingenuity with the chair's functional space. Printed in concrete with the chair rotated 90 degrees to match robotic craftsmanship, the piece is a metaphorical breath of fresh air for interpersonal connection in the city.

Methodology
- SubD free-form modelling of the seating geometry
- Robotic arm concrete 3D printing, printed at a 90-degree rotation
Awards
- First Prize — FormART3D Barcelona 2024 (Fundació Antoni Gaudí) concrete 3D printing design competition
- Exhibited at COAC 'La Ticia de Benito', Catalonia (2025)
