The two hunogigi pavilions glowing at dusk with visitors gathering on the promenade

Overview

A pair of pop-up pavilions for the food brand hunogigi (谷良吉吉) on a riverside retail promenade, completed in May 2025. Bundles of white inflatable tubes are laid over a light timber-steel frame to form each roof canopy, and the same tubes crown flower-like columns at the plaza edge; brand-yellow kiosk modules below hold the counter, menu and displays. After dusk the canopies glow like lanterns along the waterfront. Completion photography and the drone films were shot by the architect.

  • On-site installation coordination
  • Completion documentation — stills and DJI drone films (day, dusk and night)

Methodology

  • Repetitive inflatable tubes as a lightweight, demountable roof membrane over a timber-steel frame
  • Modular kiosk units in brand yellow for counter, menu and product display

Outcomes

  • Completed and opened to the public in May 2025, drawing evening crowds along the promenade
